The honest terms for buying Rapid Racing calibrations and parts: what you're licensing, what you're flashing, and who's responsible for what.
Last updated October 20, 2026
These terms cover the Rapid Racing store, the tunes we build, the parts we ship, and the account you tune from. They're written to be read — if any part of this is unclear, that's our bug; write us. (Plain-language statements of standard commercial terms; counsel reviews them when convenient.)
You flash your own ECU, with your own tools, on your own time. Modifying an engine control unit is a real modification to a real machine: follow the provided procedure, use a charged battery charger on a healthy battery, and never flash mid-datalog or mid-drive. If a flash goes wrong because the procedure wasn't followed, that's not something a refund undoes — see the returns policy for what we do instead.
We stand behind our calibrations being what we said they are: built for your VIN, your fuel, your hardware, refined from your logs. We do not promise your specific car will survive any specific abuse — mechanical condition, maintenance, and how you drive it are outside our control and remain yours. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the product at issue. Nothing in these terms limits liability the law says can't be limited.
Motorsport is assumed risk. A tuned engine makes more power than the factory calibrated for, and motorsport — track days, closed-course driving, racing — carries risks you accept as yours when you use our products that way. We are not a warranty for your engine, your driveline, or your warranty coverage: no specific power figure is guaranteed on any specific car, and a factory or third-party warranty that objects to modified software is between you and them. If a fine or penalty arises from where or how YOU used what we sold — an emissions inspection, a noise citation, a racing sanction — that is yours as well, to the extent the law allows; you indemnify us against such claims arising from your use.
If these terms change, the dated note at the top changes with them. Questions before you buy are the best kind: [email protected].
